Meet Rachel

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and have always had a passion for helping others. I provide a safe space where you can address your deepest concerns, explore your potential and uncover your passion for life.

We all get stuck sometimes, usually by a combination of ourselves and our circumstances. In order to see more clearly, we need help to step back and put our life into perspective. That is something I can help you with.

I studied social psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, graduated in 1998, then received my Masters in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004.

I am a Certified Bereavement Facilitator.  I also taught NAMI’s (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Family to Family class for family members of the mentally ill who wanted to learn about their loved one’s diagnosis, as well as coping strategies and resources.

I have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents, and worked for the County of Los Angeles, Department of Mental Health for almost 10 years.  I have come across an enormous diversity of people living with everything from severe chronic mental illness to those who are grieving over the loss of a loved one.

I loved being a Clinical Supervisor for an outpatient clinic in Hollywood for seven years. In this role I supervised hours for many Associate Clinical Social Workers and created a dynamic internship program where new social workers and psychologists were trained in working with the mentally ill population.

If you need help with any of these, please check out the Psychotherapy page for more information.

In 2010, I completed a certification in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a mind-body approach to healing trauma.  This incredibly ground-breaking therapy developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D., assists clients in creating a larger capacity to handle both pleasant as well as more difficult feelings and sensations. It helps clients move through areas where they feel stuck in an entirely new way. Check out the Somatic Experiencing page for more information.

In 2017, I felt called to expand my services when I heard about Mercier Therapy. After watching the compelling documentary entitled “Fertility,” it became clear I wanted to support women naturally on their path toward fertility and overall health and wellness. So, I completed the Mercier training and became a certified Mercier Therapist. I’m so excited to offer this service to women. Check out the Mercier Therapy page to find out more.
